SAVES, INC. Volunteers' Meeting

SAVES, INC., a feral cat rescue group serving the Town of Southold and Riverhead, will hold a meeting for all existing and potential new volunteers at the Knights of Columbus Hall (Marian Club) in Cutchogue. There will also be a table for specific volunteer tasks.

There will be a light lunch and a cash bar.

The following categories are seeking volunteers, according to SAVES:

Operational: Trapping, fostering kittens, staging and recovery (keeping cats at your home prior to spay/ neutering and after the operation for a few days), transporting cats to and from colonies and to and from veterinary hospitals, feeding feral cat colonies,caring for cats at the Petco store in Riverhead and  screening adoption applications. Coordinating volunteers.  

Thrift Store: Horton's Lane, Southold. Staffing (currently Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 3pm.) Sorting, pricing and displaying merchandise.

Fund raising: Event coordination and planning. Staffing SAVES booths at events, Strawberry Fest, Maritime Fest, Hallockville Fall Fest, Riverhead Fair, SAVES dinners and Thanksgiving weekend extravaganza, monthly adoption weekends at Petco Riverhead, etc.   Soliciting donations for Chinese auctions at events and for the thrift store.  

Administrative: Maintain WEB site and FACEBOOK site, update SAVES pages on Petfinder and Adopt A Pet, help with newsletter, coordinate creation of promotional materials (signs, ads, posters, etc.), coordinate advertising media....print, radio, posters, etc., maintain email database, maintain mailing database.
