WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS

After a long-haul selling real estate in the Hamptons and in New York City, Hampton Bays resident Beth Bongar decided enough was enough. She wanted to spend the rest of her life, doing something that she loved — making people laugh.

She said she thought about going back to clowning — she spent many years as a clown in the Big Apple Circus and working private parties. But, she remembered why she left clowning in the first place — once, at a party, a child said, "Hey man, I didn't know clowns are old."

EAST HAMPTON

Owner Peter Ambrose opened the doors at the  space on Wednesday, and already the customer flow has been steady. "Business is good already," he said on Friday afternoon, after the lunch rush.

There's certainly plenty to chose from at the seafood market. Ambrose sells fresh fish, mainly from a fleet of fishing boats in Montauk, owned by Gerald Herlihy and Butch Payne. There's plenty of marinades, oils, and seasoning for sale, too. Samples of grilled sea scallops were available for customers.

RIVERHEAD
