With a new look and updated menu, one of East Hampton's longest running restaurants reopened on Friday.

Nick & Toni’s is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an interior facelift. The North Main Street restaurant closed about two months ago so that renovations could be finished ahead of the 2013 summer season.

The Mediterranean inspired restaurant now enjoys a modernized space, as well as an updated menu.

Blog: Wall Streeters Try to Bilk Broker out of Commission

Want a high-end rental in the Hamptons but don't want to shell out a broker's fee? You could look for broker-less listings — or you could enlist a broker, then screw him out of his commission.

At least, that's what two men tried to do recently before being called out by a Southampton attorney, according to hamptonsmarketwire.com.

The real estate blog states that the men — one works as an attorney for a Wall Street investment bank and the other is a portfolio manager for a real estate hedge fund — contacted Rosehip Partners in East Hampton to find a Hamptons rental they could use as a summer share house.

New Deli With a Twist Opens in East Quogue

While you might think East Quogue's newest business that merges a bagel shop with wine bar has an identity crisis, the owners said its actually a perfect pairing.

On April 2, Jim Ferrentino, along with his wife and brother-in-law, opened the Beach Side Bagel Cafe, formerly the Bagel Palace. The new business not only specializes in wraps, bagels and anything else you'd normally find in a deli, but also wine and cheese.

Here's the catch, once the weekend afternoon deli rush comes to a close, Ferrentino and his staff, transform the business into a wine and cheese bar — the tables are covered in linen cloths, the lights go dim and the bagel counter is masked with desserts.

RIVERHEAD

Downtown Brewery Shooting for June Opening

After word got out nearly two years ago that Digger's owner Steve Wirth was planning on opening a microbrewery in downtown Riverhead, Wirth said last week that it's looking like a June opening for Crooked Ladder Brewing Co.

Though Wirth originally hoped for fall 2011 opening, permitting has taken much longer than anticipated, and Wirth isn't the only current small businessperson among those behind Crooked Ladder. Duffy Griffiths, who will be doing the brewing, owns Jamesport's and Riverhead's Duffy's Deli, while Wirth's brother David will be doing the construction and renovation work at the former Crystal Bar.

"We knew it was going to take some time," said Wirth. "While it's inconvenient, it's not the end of the world."
