The folks at Bedell Cellars have a reason to celebrate during the presidential inauguration on Monday — their very own 2009 merlot will be served at the inaugural luncheon, one of many agricultural products from New York State to be featured on the presidential menu.
So, Bedell is inviting the community to a viewing of the historic event held on Martin Luther King Day this year on Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Complimentary inaugural-themed appetizers will be served along with the 2009 merlot, the first New York State wine to be served at an inaugural luncheon. The event will be shown on a 52-inch plazma TV.
"As we celebrate over 30 years of winemaking excellence at Bedell Cellars we, wish to thank our customers‚ who have supported our wines over the years," said Michael Lynne, Owner of Bedell Cellars, during an interview with the New York Times earlier this month. "We are deeply grateful to Senator Charles Schumer for the opportunity and his unwavering support of the entire New York wine industry."
There is no cost to attend this event and bottles will be available to purchase. RSVP by Thursday Jan. 18 by emailing Molly@bedellcellars.com.
