7-Eleven Owner Says He'll Be Open By Christmas

According to 'Suffolk Times' report, next Wednesday, doors should be open.

After years of debate within the Mattituck community over the opening of a 7-Eleven at the corner of Route 25 and Factory Avenue, the convenience store seems poised for opening next week.

According to a report in The Suffolk Times, store owner Tony Cocheo is planning on opening its doors just before on Christmas on next Wednesday, Dec. 21.

The owner received Planning Board approval for the project Dec. 14, 2010 after a petition gathering over 1,200 signatures was brought to the committee. Opponents to the project said the store was ill-fitted for an already cluttered area.
