10 Places to Buy Christmas Trees

You can either bring your own saw or pick out a pre-cut tree at the North Fork's Christmas tree farms.

The North Fork offers a variety of different locations to pick the right Christmas tree. Whether you are looking to go out  and saw your tree down yourself,  pick up a balled tree, or just find the right pre-cut tree for your space, this list has a little bit of everything.

  1. Zuhoski Farms is located on Route 48 in Cutchogue. They have a variety of pre-cut trees in different sizes and even some ready to plant after the holidays.
  2. Santa’s Christmas Tree Farm is located on the Main Road in Cutchogue and is open daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. In addition to trees and wreaths, the farm has a large retail shop selling ornaments and holiday decorations.
  3. Dart’s Christmas Tree Farm on Main Bayview Road in Southold is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dart’s carries Fraser Firs and Douglas Firs and has a holiday store on premises that sells decorations and ornaments.
  4. Shamrock Christmas Tree Farm in Mattituck has spruce, fir, and balled trees available for the taking. In addition, you can find wreaths, garlands and grave blankets. Santa Claus is available for pictures on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. For more information call 631-298-4619.
  5. Clarke’s Garden in Greenport has pre-cut trees and greenery available in the heart of Greenport Village. 
  6. Chick’s Agway on Young’s Ave. in Southold is open daily and has balsam trees available. They also have wreaths, roping, grave blankets and poinsettias on the premises. Agway is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Call Agway at 765-3462 to find out what size trees they offer.
  7. Soundside Landscape is located on Route 48 in Peconic across from the BP gas station. They have Fraser Firs from 3’ to 13’ and wreaths. Soundside also provides free delivery to North Fork locations. The stand is open Monday through Thursdays from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Friday through Sunday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information call 631-765-5471.
  8. The Cutchogue Fire Department’s Panthers drill team will sell trees and wreaths at the firehouse on the weekends until Christmas from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Fraser fir prices start at $45 and wreaths start at $12. Local delivery is available.
  9. Christmas in Cutchogue by Chris Mohr Lawn Care and Landscaping is located on Route 48 in Cutchogue and is open daily from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. This year, in addition to pre-cut and balled trees, wreaths and roping, they will be selling ornaments and antiques in their new Christmas shop.   10. The North Fork Preserve Christmas Tree Farm on Sound Ave. in Aquebogue allows visitors to select a pre-cut tree or to wander through the vast fields and select the perfect tree. Trees start at $30.
