Elderly Man Found Dead In Southold Pool

Efforts to revive the man were unsuccessful, police said.

An elderly man who was found unresponsive at the bottom of his Southold pool died on Friday, police said.

According to Southold Town police, police responded to the Maple Lane home of Gerald Langelier, 78, on Friday at 4:57 p.m.

Police said the man was found unresponsive at the bottom of his pool. Responding police and Southold Fire Department members tried to resuscitate Langelier prior to transporting him to Eastern Long Island Hospital, but were unsuccessful.
