First Day of School on the North Fork: School Supplies, Parent Meeting, Open Houses

It's the first day of school on the North Fork and kids from Laurel to Orient are gearing up for a new semester. Here are a few tips for parents:

If you're a parent in Greenport Elementary School parent wondering what school supplies your kids will need, the district has listed a comprehensive guide for all grades. To see what's on the lists, click here.

For parents of students in the Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School district, a Parent Athletic Information Night will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. 

Athletic Director of Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD Greggory Wormuth will be presenting to all parents of student athletes grades 7-12 on information relative to athletics in the district. The focus of the presentation will be on the philosophy of MUFSD athletics, expectations of athletes, parents, and coaches, policies and procedures and how to use the MUFSD website to find athletic information.

In Southold, an Open House will be held on Tuesday for grades 9 though 12 at 6:45 p.m. in the auditorium. An open house will be held on Thurday for grades K through 3, in the auditorium, from 6 to 7 p.m., with an open house to follow from 7 to 8 p.m. for grades 4 to 8.
