Weekend Spotlight: 'Musicians for a Cure' Benefit Concert

Check out four great local bands while raising money for cancer cures at the Southold American Legion Hall Saturday night.

Several local musicians will be performing at a charity fundraiser on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the for the American Cancer Society's annual event, which will be held at in Peconic on June 4.

Enjoy the melodic and eclectic rock from the Lesus Mor Band, the hard-driving yet dancable rock from Black Petals, acoustic covers from Diamond and Rust and progressive rock 'n' roll from Deep Rising.

"It's going to be a killer rockin' night," said organizer Gregg Charles, a Cutchogue resident and keyboard player and singer in the Lesus Mor Band. "Giveaways, cash bar, appetizers and a lot of fun for a good cause."

Tickets are $20, and if you are attending the cocktail party from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday night you get $5 off at the door.

The night's line-up:
1. Diamond & Rust: acoustic covers, 7 p.m.
2. Lesus Mor Band: melodic and eclectic rock: 8 p.m.
3. The Black Petals: hard, danceable, driving rock: 9 p.m.
4. Deep Rising: progressive, inspiring, serious rock 'n' roll: 10 p.m.
