Step Inside the Home of World-Renown Mattituck Artists

Ilya and Emilia Kabakov were both recently featured in a New York Daily News article.

How goes the life of a North Fork artist?

Artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Mattituck residents, recently invited the New York Daily News into their home and studio to show a glimpse of where art that is featured around the world - in places such as Münster, Tokyo, and London - is created.

According to the article: "There is a simplicity to their life that has a softness that stops time, and a force that makes creativity rain like a storm ... This is the life artists live on the North Fork."

Both were born in the U.S.S.R. - in what is now Ukraine - and their work is heavily influenced by the social context which surrounded them before moving to the United States, in the 1990s.

Read the New York Daily News article here and learn more about their art and home studio in Mattituck.
