"Art + Friendship + Discovery" takes the cake at Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival

Out of the 16 films showcased at the three-day Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival that took place at Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor this past weekend, "Shelter Island: Art + Friendship + Discovery" won the audience choice award.

Viewers of each documentary voted on a scale of one to five after each screening over the weekend. The votes were tallied on Monday, an the 77-minute film directed by Mike Canzoniero about the poignant relationship between gas station owner Jimmy Olinkiewicz and outsider artist Harold Olson on Shelter Island was the favorite.

On hand at the festival besides filmmaker Canzoniero, second right, were the stars of the film, left to right, Jimmy's son Alex Olinkewicz, Harald Olson, and Jimmy Olinkiewicz.
