EVENT: Mattituck Artist to Show Long-Lost Paintings in Jamesport

Max Moran will display pieces of art that were stolen and returned this weekend.

Five years ago, a number of works of art  studio. Some of the works that have been recovered through the efforts of the FBI Art Crime Team, and Moran will be showing these long-lost pieces in a exhibit called “Hung Out to Dry,” opening this weekend at barn gallery in Jamesport.

The self-portrait of Moran attached to this post is a result of Moran’s encounter with Vincent Price 32 years ago, when Moran was an up-and-coming painter. This portrait along with others recovered from the robbery and new landscapes will also be shown at the event.

Opening reception happens Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Paintings will be on display Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. and   Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m.
