Open Mic, first Friday at Custer Institute

Ron Rothman will be guest host for this special First Friday Open Mic. In conjunction with the upcoming Rothman's Gallery Opening  and Concert in a partial Celebration of Bob Dylan's 70th Birthday, BETSY SIGGINS of the "New England Folk Music Archive" will be giving an informal presentation about the the 1960's Folk Scene. She has been a central figure in the Cambridge folk music community since she happened upon the local coffeehouse scene as a college freshman in 1958. Betsy was a founding member of Club 47, the legendary venue where musicians such as Joan Baez, Jim Kweskin, and Eric von Schmidt helped to launch the folk revival. Club 47 remained the center of activity in folk music for nearly a decade.

Along with a performance by the Park Ave. Gypsies people are encouraged to bring a Bob Dylan Song to perform in Celebration of this Folk Icons 70th birthday this month.
