On Friday, September 14 at 7:00pm, Friday Night Dialogues at the Shelter Island Public Library will feature Kaylie Jones, editor of the very popular mystery book, Long Island Noir.   Kaylie will discuss her new book along with two of the contributing award winning authors, Reed Farrel Coleman and Mathew McGevna.

Long Island Noir reveals stories of Long Island extremes from the comfortable rich to the horribly poor, and all the darkness in between….from Great Neck to Amagansett. In the book, Long Island emerges as a region far more complex and sinister than merely a playground for the rich and famous.

According to Publisher’s Weekly, Long Island Noir is an eclectic and effective mix of seasoned pros…the 17 collaborators portray a wonderful diversity of people driven to extremes.”

The New York Times writes “There is plenty of mayhem for fans of dark fiction in the pages of Long Island Noir:  shootings, killings all manner of brutality…Suburbia may be even meaner than the big city.”

Admission to this event is complimentary. Copies of Long Island Noir will be available for purchase and signing. For more information, please call the library at 631 749-0042.
