Inside Job - Saturday Movie Matinee

At last, a way to understand what triggered the collapse of Wall Street and the global financial crisis of 2008, and who fought to prevent it. The 2011 Oscar-winning film, Inside Job, is your ticket. The First Universalist Church (the “Church at the Bend”) in Southold is showing Inside Job on their 60-inch, HD TV, Saturday, April 30 at 2 pm.

Most of us labored through columns of newsprint and hours of TV news and analysis at the time, but the behind-the-scenes events of those trying to prevent a financial tsunami were not known then.  Inside Job won the Oscar for best documentary because it portrays the high drama of the struggle by Wall Street, the Fed, and the Obama administration to dodge the oncoming disaster-- which they had helped to cause.  Director:  Charles Ferguson; Narrator:  Matt Damon

Admission is FREE.  Showtime is 2 p.m. (doors open at 1:30).
