De Facto Poetry and Fiction Reading

Come hear the new sounds of poetry and prose with writers Matthew Daddona, Lucas Hunt, John Trotta, and Tim Wood at The Market in Greenport, NY. There will be food and wine and great times in the picturesque North Fork town.

The Readers:
Matthew Daddona is a recent graduate of Brooklyn College. His poetry has appeared in Slice, Anderbo, InDigest, elimae, Barely South Review, and Assisi, among others. He is the recipient of Academy of American Poets and Beatrice Dubin Rose awards. He has collaborated on a chapbook with fellow reader Tim Wood and freelances regularly for various New York-based magazines. He will be reading a recent collection of poems focusing on people creating their opuses through last words.

Lucas Hunt’s debut collection of poetry, Lives, was published to critical acclaim in 2006. His poems have appeared in literary reviews including Slice, The Southampton Review, Anderbo, and Confrontation. Hunt studied at the University of Iowa Writers Workshop, and in the MFA program at Southampton College. He is the recipient of a John Steinbeck Award for poetry. His most recent volume of poetry, Light on the Concrete, was released in 2011.

John Trotta is pursuing his MFA in Fiction at Hunter College where he studies under National Book Award winner Colum McCann and two-time Booker Prize winner Peter Carey. He has been published in Slice Magazine and Miscellany. He is currently working on his first novel.

Tim Wood is author of the book of poems Otherwise Known as Home (BlazeVOX, 2010) and coeditor of The Hip Hop
Reader (Longman, 2008). Along with his poetry, he has published essays on Herman Melville’s epic poem “Clarel”, Lyn
Hejinian and Leslie Scalapino’s collaborative poem “Sight”, and Robert Grenier’s “drawn” poem “Always/Only/A/
Plenum.” He is an assistant professor of English at Nassau Community College in Garden City and lives in Southold, New York.
