Bag IT the Movie, presented by, North Fork Audubon

NFAS Presents: Bag IT--The MovieSunday, February 5th- 2:30 PMBeach Clean UP - 1 to 2 PMRed House at Inlet Pond Park, Greenport.  Please join the North Fork Audubon Society for a showing of "Bag It--The Movie", followed by a strategy session to discuss how we can reduce single-use shopping bags throughout our community  The reason?  In the United States alone, an average of over 100 billion plastic bags are used each year. As we all have observed, very often these bags wind up in waterways or on the landscape degrading soil and water quality as they break down into toxic bits. On the East End especially, we must be aware of the devastating impacts these bags can have on wildlife in our bays and Long Island Sound.  If you're feeling especially energetic, join us for a hour as we work to clean up the beach at Inlet Pond Park from 1-2pm followed by hot chocolate at the Red House.   "Bag It--The Movie" will be shown at 2:30 p.m. Questions?   Please call the NFAS at 477-6456. or on the web: northforkaudubon.org
