North Fork Audubon's 5th Annual Dragonfly Day

Please be sure to join us for our 5th Annual Family Dragonfly Day at Skipper Horton Park (just east of St. Peter's Lutheran Church) in Greenport. It’s a wonderful way to spend the afternoon for adults and children of all ages.

At 1:30, you can learn “All About Dragonflies” from Sarah Williams, who has led Dragonfly Safaris at Peconic Dunes Camp this summer.

At 2 p.m. Connie Gillies (of Constant Wonder www.conniegillies.com) and GP Lane will "edu-tain' children from ages 3 to 9!  Through theater games and interactive music children will act out the life cycle of the magnificent dragonfly and other OVIPAROUS creatures on the North Fork, sing Connie's award winning interactive original songs, laugh and learn!

And, as always, Annette Oliveira will be there to help you identify the local "odonates" (dragonflies and damselflies) that breed and feed at the ponds here.

You'll have a unique opportunity to closely observe these beautiful insects and will leave with your own personal Dragonfly and Damselfly checklist of the species you see that day. $5 per person; $20 for families of 4 or more includes a one year membership to the NFAS.
