It’s time to get into the groove every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. with bands like The Rare Groove Band, Nina Etcetera and Who Dat Loungers at the amphitheater in Greenport.
The event runs for nine weeks beginning on July 2 with the No Request Band. Jump-started over 10 years ago by Eileen Kapell and Gail Horton and kept alive by Librarian Poppy Johnson and the village’s Arts and Culture committee, the dance party originally started small with about three or four nights of music. Many Greenport businesses extend hours on Monday evenings to attract the dancers and listeners.
Dances in the Park is free but donations are accepted at the event.
