#95: MainStage Dance Academy

Former Radio City Music Hall dancer runs a vibrant dance studio in Greenport catering to all experience levels and to those with special needs.

Gotta dance? Then you gotta check out MainStage Dance Academy, located at 74365 Main Road in Greenport — one of the 100 coolest things to do on the North Fork.

Lucille Naar-Saladino, founder and executive director of the studio, and four other experienced dance instructors teach ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre, and Zumba to students ranging from 3 to 70 years of age. The studio also features a class for special needs adult students and a summer camp for kids. The space can also be rented for birthday and bridal shower dance parties.

Naar-Saladino danced with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and has been a dancer since age 5. She’s also performed at various venues over the years in Reno, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, and Atlantic City, N.J. She has also worked with the likes of Lorna Luft, Bill Cosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Dionne Warwick, Frank Sinatra Jr., and Kenny Rogers. “We want to enlighten, excite and stimulate our students so they gain confidence and have fun as they learn,” Naar-Saladino said. “We hope that the discipline of dance, as well as the freedom to express themselves, will help all students in other areas of their lives."
