1. Atlantis Marine World
Maybe Atlantis in Riverhead does not come to mind as a hot ticket on New Year's Eve, but the family friendly is a hot ticket. Dinner, dancing, visiting exhibits and a champagne toast will be on tap for the evening. The event runs from 6:30 to 11 p.m. The cost for children is $49 ($39 for members) and $85 for adults ($75 for members). Reservations are required.
At 10 p.m. the Greenport Carousel will open for a special New Year's party. Enjoy food and beverages in the carousel building. At midnight, walk out into Mitchell Park and watch the raising of the anchor and fireworks display. Tickets are $25 for the carousel party but the anchor raising and fireworks are free.
