10 Concerts to Enjoy During the Holiday Season

The North Fork has plenty of options for music in December. Here are a list of 10 great performances.

'Tis the season for holiday music, and the North Fork has an abundance of concerts to accommodate all musical tastes this holiday season. In addition to live music at the wineries and winter concerts at the schools, here are 10 special performances to check out.

The North Fork Chorale will have three shows. The first show is this Friday at Southold Presbyterian Church, followed by a Saturday show at the The Friday and Saturday shows start at 8 p.m. The group rounds out their concert series with a Sunday performance at 3 p.m. at the Tickets are $10.

2. Jus B'Cuz

The local gospel group Jus B'Cuz will perform on Saturday at the This concert features gospel interpretations of Christmas tunes and starts at 4 p.m. Tickets are $15.

3. East End Brass Ensemble

The East End Brass Ensemble will be the featured performers at the in Southold on Saturday. The festivities start at 6 p.m. and the cost to attend the concert is $12.

4. Charlotte Day and Jeffrey Wentz

This duo will play classical works on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the This two piano concert is a benefit for and tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students.

5.Holiday Jams Dance Party

If you are looking to listen to great music and dance, the East End Arts Council Holiday Jams Dance Party on Dec. 10 fits the bill. Located at Polish Hall in Riverhead, this dance features a DJ, dancing, and performances by East End Arts Council students. The event starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15 each.

6. The Peconic Bay Masterworks Choir 2010

The Peconic Bay Masterworks Choir will perform Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. at the . This 60-voice choir will perform classical holiday tunes. Tickets are $15.

7. Preservation Hall Jazz

The presents Preservation Hall Jazz on Dec. 11 in the Southold High School auditorium at 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for students.

8. Jean Redpath

One of the world's most noted interpreters of traditional Scottish music will perform at Poquatuck Hall in Orient on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets for Jean Redpath start at $20.

In a twist on live music offered at local vineyards, Martha Clara in Riverhead will feature the Riverhead Middle School Chorus starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18. This event is free.

10. Andrew Smith and Alexandra Le

in Orient will feature Andrew Smith on cello and Alexandra Le on piano on Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. Tickets for this event are $10.
