Village Trustee: Remove Vehicles From Streets

Mary Bess Phillips of the Greenport Village Board takes firey sunrise as a storm warning.

Greenport Village Trustee Mary Bess Phillips sent North Fork Patch this photo of a fiery sunrise over Stirling Harbor Thursday morning, saying that given the weather predicitons of blizzard-like conditions, the old quote "red sunrise in morning, sailor take warning, red sunset at night sailor’s delight" probably applies today.

"I will say that given the sunrise this morning, we are in for something major," Phillips said. "It is time to remind village residents and property owners that vehicles need to be off village streets for the road crews to be safe in making it safe for us."
