Taking The Dog -- And Horse -- For A Stroll

When Southold resident Charles Vaccoriello takes his dog Cocoa for a walk, he does it in style -- in his very own Amish carriage pulled by a miniature horse named Eddie.

The horse, 23, is a familiar sight in the Southold Fourth of July parade. But on regular days, Vaccoriello just enjoys taking the horse and dog out for a stroll. "It gives Eddie some exercise," he said. "And I get to talk to people. I wouldn't be talking if I was driving around in my car."
