Southold Voice Group Talks 'Before And After Sandy'

A storm-ravaged shoreline will be spotlighted in a discussion in Southold Saturday.

A community organization hit hard by Mother Nature will come together Saturday to discuss "Before And After Sandy."

An annual meeting of Southold Voice will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Southold Recreation Center on Peconic Lane.

A flood and mitigation specialist from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will discuss life before and after Superstorm Sandy, as well as flood mapping, flood plains, insurance and other related topics.

According to its mission statement, Southold Voice is a not-for-profit organization of waterfront property owners and others interested in the use, enjoyment and preservation of Southold Township’s waterfront from Laurel to Orient Point.

The organization promotes awareness of issues affecting shoreline and marine resources to further cooperation between responsible use, regulatory protection, and the rights of property owners for the benefit of the community.
