Despite the rain, the stores, galleries, restaurants and wineries remain open on the North Fork. Here is a quick guide of indoor things to do.

Have your own gallery walk in Greenport. Just because the weather outside is not cooperating, does not mean the art galleries are closed. Stop by , , , , or the y. The gallery owners are friendly and knowledgeable about what hangs on their walls. If you feel inspired after visiting one of the galleries, stop by and paint your own ceramic creation.

See a movie or a show. On a Sunday afternoon, and the are open for matinées. Call for availability of matinées during the week. If live theater is more appealing, do not miss the chance to see "Footloose" at the in Mattituck.

Sit back and enjoy live music. Musicians appear at bars, restaurants and vineyards throughout the week. On a Sunday afternoon, you can find music at , , , and . Vineyards are not the only music venues on the North Fork. A Lure in Southold has live music starting at 6 p.m. every Sunday, Billy's By the Bay in Greenport has live music every Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the summer.

If you are looking for a cultural experience, the  North Fork x North Fork art show at the old Galley Ho Restaurant in New Suffolk is open on weekends throughout August. This show is a fundraiser to restore the New Suffolk Waterfront.

The on Village Lane is open on weekends as well and features Oysterponds' Changing Face: The First Millennia exhibit. You can also tour the museum's buildings. The  is featuring an embroidery exhibit.
