Photos: Church Celebrates 'World Smile Day'
In Southold, congregants joined a worldwide effort so spread acts of kindness and smiles.
Across the globe, individuals are gathering together to participate in World Smile Day, an initiative that focuses on acts of kindness to make at least one person smile.
The goal is to spotlight the fact that despite cultural differences, people are innately the same, with the same longing to smile, and to receive a grin in return.
On Saturday, members of the First Univeralist Church of Southold gathered to create age-appropriate "smile bags" for children in the pediatrics unit at Stony Brook Hospital.
