Photo of the Day: Maureen's Haven Receives Donation

A nearby organization recently presented Maureen's Haven with $2,500.

After learning more about the non-profit Maureen's Haven program, which provides warmth, food and shelter to the East End's homeless during the winter, the Hampton Bays Lions Club decided to help out.

Recently, the club presented Maureen's Haven with a check for $2,500 that will be used toward the homeless program, which is in its 11th year, starting at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Hampton Bays in 2002.

This winter, Maureen's Haven has opened the doors at various churches each night of the week, averaging 43 guests per night, who are served dinner and treated to showers, warm beds, and companionship.
