Long Island Restaurant Week Had Huge Turnout

Three course $24.95 prix fixe menus pack Long Island restaurants.

Long Island Restaurant Week was a great success. About 227 restaurants on Long Island participated in the promotion that offered a $24.95 prix fixe from Nov. 7 through Nov. 14 that packed restaurants all over Long Island despite the lagging economy.

The numbers were impressive. With over 181,000 meals served, revenue generated from Long Island Restaurant Week totaled $7,026,558. The State of New York reaped $385,128 in tax revenue.

Several restaurants chose to extend Long Island Restaurant Week. On the East End, the list includes: East Hampton – Rugosa; Greenport – The Portly Grape; Mattituck – Amano Restaurant; Riverhead – Boulder Creek Steakhouse; Wading River – Blackwells Restaurant; Water Mill – MUSE Restaurant & Aquatic Lounge; and Westhampton – Casa Basso.
