LIVE OUTAGE UPDATES: More Than 2000 Without Power

Utility restoring power across the area as outages continue to be reported.

UPDATED, 3 p.m.: Monday's band of wet and heavy snow caused power outages across Long Island, with the latest number at 2,231 customers without power, according to utility PSEG-LI's outage map.

According to PSEG, Oyster Bay had the highest concentration of outages with 572. Meanwhile, 470 outages were reported in Islip, 317 in Hempstead, 369 in North Hempstead and 150 in Smithtown.

In an update issued by the utility at 9:30 a.m., PSEG warned that the thick snow could bring down wires and branches, likely causing outages.
