Pet of the Week: Leopard Has Some Halloween Fun with Shelter Buddies

This super friendly cat joins in some holiday antics and proves that he'd be the ideal pet to bring home.

Of course doing something specifically for Halloween was a must for this week's Pet of the Week, so with the help some wonderful people and one awesome dog, we were able to highlight a really special kitten who went above and beyond proving that would be a beautiful addition to one deserving family.

The first task of the day at the was to choose an exceptional cat that was not only a great playmate for his kitten roomies, but one who could also handle being photographed with a dog with whom he was not familiar. So with the help of senior and basketball player Winston Wilcenski who's currently fulfilling his community service at the Town of Southold Animal Shelter, we chose Leopard, a friendly and handsome five-month-old tabby, who even boasts the most adorable goatee under his chin.

Leopard, along with his handsome gray roomie, kept us amused while both  remained fascinated with their new toy.

After playtime, a dog was chosen to join in the photos, one who could be a poster pup and an ambassador for adopting a shelter dog — office manager Gabby Glantzman's incredible dog, Duck.

Then it was on to the education room of the shelter, where, with help from the cheerful team of shelter staffers Shannon Chute and Bethany Clark, we introduced Duck and Leopard. By the end of the photo session, it was obvious that Leopard was the most easy-going kitten that we had all ever met!

We truly hope you enjoy the little Halloween photo gallery we put together for you for this spooky time of year.

And of course remember that after the fun is over, and Leopard goes back to his room, he and millions of other homeless animals are all in serious need loving homes.

So stop by the shelter today, to not only find your new best friend and family member — but to give an animal a chance at a new life.
