Give Blood at ELIH Thursday To Boost Supply After Hurricane Sandy

No appointment necessary to give blood Thursday at Eastern Long Island Hospital.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, blood supplies are diminishing rapidly across the state. Which is why Eastern Long Island Hospital representatives announced Tuesday that an emergency blood drive will take place this Thursday at the Greenport hospital from 8 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.

No appointment is necessary. Eligible donors include those who are at least age 16, with parental permission or consent, who weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and are in good general health. People over 75 may donate with a doctor’s note.
