Motorists traveling west on Route 48 on Sunday noticed a dust storm sweeping the area.
Gail Evans said she was driving between Cutchogue and Riverhead, and noticed the clouds of dust, so thick at times that it was difficult to see the car ahead. And tree limbs were down, too, she noted.
