Chamber Hosts Discussion With Legislator

What questions do you have for Legislator Al Krupski?

The Riverhead Chamber of Commerce will present Suffolk County Legislator Al Krupski at its upcoming breakfast meeting, Eggs & Issues, to be held on August 8 at the Hotel Indigo at 8 a.m.

Krupski is slated to discuss ways to facilitate small business development, as well as the proposed footbridge from Riverside to downtown Riverhead.

Other topics on the agenda include land use issues, permitting in the Department of Health, and sewers and decentralized wastewater treatment.

Krupski has said his priorities include improving water quality, the environment, farmland and open space preservation, taxes, economic growth, and the health and welfare of residents.

So far, Krupski has sponsored legislation authorizing the acquisition of Farmland Development Rights under the New Suffolk County Drinking Water Protection program for a Riverhead Central School District property; sponsored a local law to expand exemptions to boating safety instruction requirements for retired members of the United States Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the United States Navy; and sponsored legislation to adopt a charter law to strengthen farmland preservation in Suffolk County, among other measures.

Krupski formerly served as a Southold town board member and town trustee.
