Despite Storm, Cutchogue Crowd Gathers to Celebrate First Night of Hanukkah

A few North Fork residents braved the stormy skies to light the first candle for Hanukkah Wednesday night at the North Fork Reform Synagogue in Cutchogue.

A small crowd braved the weather Wednesday to light the candles inside and outside of the in Cutchogue on the first eve of Hanukkah.

The lighting of the Menorah took place on the in Cutchogue with a prayer and songs to welcome in the start of the Jewish holiday.

Guests were invited back to North Fork Reform Synagogue, which shares space with the on Route 25, for warm apple cider, jelly donuts and more singing and celebrating.
