Bellone Discusses Water, Other Issues With North Fork
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone met with North Fork community representatives Wednesday to discuss water quality and other issues of importance to residents .
“We know nitrogen is harming the waterways and water supply of Suffolk County,” Bellone said. “Our wetlands are damaged by nitrogen and threaten our coastlines during a natural disaster. Too many homes in Suffolk are not sewered, and we must address this problem for the sake of the county’s economic wellbeing and our children’s future. ”

Bellone also discussed downtown revitalization for both economic reasons and as way of providing housing for young people; transportation on the East End to reduce traffic problems while increasing tourism, workforce housing and alternative energy.

The county executive also met with Southold Elementary School pupils who were helping senior citizens learn how to use Google tablets that were recently donated to the Town of Southold senior center.
