Whitebread Regatta Holds Fundraiser for Youth Sailing Teams

Thank you to Steve Weiss for sharing this on North Fork Patch. If you have an announcement, feel free to post it by clicking here.

The Whitebread Regatta Committee has kicked off a fundraising program with a kayak donated by Preston’s in Greenport. The Old Cove Youth Sailing Foundation. (a 501c3 organization) is now raffling the kayak off, with all funds to benefit local high School sailing teams.

The kickoff party was held at Legends in New Suffolk this past Wednesday night and close to $1000 was collected from the generous sailing crowd. Special Sponsor prizes were drawn from Mount Gay Rum, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company and Legends Restaurant.

A packed house was on hand to help raise a glass of Greenport Harbor Ale, and help raise a sail, to some kids who might need a “halyard up”, and maybe add some sailing to our youth.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at Preston’s in Greenport, and Legends in New Suffolk or via the PBSA website at www.pbsa.us

The wining ticket for the Kayak will be drawn at the Whitebread Regatta party on October 6th at Cutchogue Harbor Marina. You do not have to be present to win.
