Peggy Mach’s sculptures celebrate the little moments in life. And now for a short engagement, one of Mach’s celebratory pieces is featured at the Terrance Joyce Gallery in Greenport for Eastern Long Island Hospital. “Masquerade,” a 20” tall bronze sculpture, sits atop a black marble base. This bronze beauty will be auctioned live on Aug. 13 – at McCall Vineyard & Preserve for the 2011 Gala to benefit the Emergency Department. Stop in to see how this piece seemingly shines from within and place a silent bid on this elegant limited edition. Silent bids starting at $3,000 will be accepted by mail or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org through Aug. 11. Casting her bronze creations using the ancient Lost Wax Method, a six- step process, Mach personally watches over each step, adjusting, correcting, and refining and every sculpture. Even the negative molds involved in each sculpture are destroyed during the casting, thereby requiring new ones to be made for the next piece in the edition.Gala tickets are priced at $175 per person; sponsorship opportunities start at $1,000.
