After in Greenport on Saturday, celebrate Black History Month at the Auditorium at 2 p.m. with a screening of the "Let Freedom Sing," a 2009 documentary film showcasing the inspiring music of the Civil Rights Movement. This music brought the medium and the message together at the crossroads of a cultural revolution.
Earlier this month, Peconic Landing featured the film "Unbought and Unbossed," the story of the first black woman elected to congress who refused to accept the status quo when racial and gender inequality was the norm.
Light refreshments will be served after today's screening. Contact Marjorie Day: 477-3800 or Dan Durett: 477-6024
