In a ceremony at his Patchogue office on September 22, 2012, Congressman Bishop congratulated Navy Junior ROTC Cadet Shelby Pickerell of Southold (and her dad, Jason) for receiving a $180,000 college scholarship from the Navy for her academic achievement and leadership potential, and presented her with an official Certificate of Congressional Recognition. “Shelby is an outstanding young leader; I am very proud of her and know she will represent Long Island exceptionally well wherever she plots her future course,” Congressman Bishop said.
