The Kids are out of School, Things to do for the summer!

Now that every child in New York is out of school for the summer, unless they have summer school of course or a special needs child who needs year around programs, what must we all do with our children to occupy them for two months out of the year. Rainy days, sunny days, and of course those holiday breaks are most difficult.

Well for relatives, moms, dads, and sitters that is the question we all struggle with on a daily basis. What to do, what to do! Here are a few things you can do that can be on the cheaper end. Biking yes you can bike with your child at any age, weather they bike next to you or you buy a cart which attaches to an adult bike, the cart can fit up to a 100 pounds they have singles and doubles, enough room for two four year old children.

Then there is the radio flyer wagon, which can also fit up to 100 pounds all you need is to bring the wagon around a safe area and off you go. Pools are wonderful but for people who don't have one or do have one the beach is most fun for all children, and hey why not its cheap.

The park can be entertaining what little kid wouldn't love the park, and while your there you can meet up with your friends, have lunch and even make one day a week out of it. Little red cars can be very cute for a toddler or younger child, not to mention toys r us has the children vehicle. Nope never had one here from toys r us they range 200 and up, but the jeeps are pretty cool.

More elaborate things to do would be go to Splish Splash they have a summer pass, go to the children's museum in Bridgehampton, or you can always visit New York City where they have tons to do, if you want to take that trip.

The Library also offers free programs over the summer, meanwhile long island has a list of day camps and overnight camps and even camps for special needs children. Then there is the board games at home, puzzles, drawing, movie night with popcorn and much more.

Being I have two very active children, and my autistic child can keep going a thirteen hour day, and I have a twelve year old I must come up with solutions thankfully we have the help here, to help us keep them active but not everyone can afford a sitter.

So what I would like to say to all parents is, your the one the kids look up to and as hard as summer can be, everyday parenting is even harder! Enjoy your summer and don't forget these are the things to do for the summer for you and your kids.
