Book Talk, Free Concerts, Teen Gaming Tournament Top Thursday's Agenda

Don't miss any of the fun things on Thursday's agenda.

Good morning, North Fork. Here's a look at what's happening around town on Thursday on a glorious August day.

- It's bound to be a beautiful night for a picnic. Head to Raphael Vineyard and Winery at 6:30 p.m. for a glass of wine and dancing with Noiz. Bring a picnic. Admission is free.

- A book discussion will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library from 10 to 11 a.m.  No registration required. Newcomers always welcomes. Thursday's talk will be on "Shanghai Girls" by Lisa See.

- Kids can enjoy Summer Math Stories with Mrs. Vitiello at the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library from 11 a.m. until noon. The program uses a picture book with a summer theme that incorporates a math question to solve. Kids can create their own story situation and math storybook to decorate with illustrations and craft items. Grades 3-5.

- See Bari Koral in concert from 1 to 2 p.m. on the Village Green in Cutchogue. The interactive family concert is sponsored by the North Fork libraries. Bring blankets or chairs. In the event of rain, held at the Parish Hall in Cutchogue. For all ages.

- A teen gaming tournament will take place at the Mattituck-Laurel Library in the meeting room from 5 to 6 p.m.

- ALure Restaurant in Southold offers a three-course $34.95 prix fixe menu, in addition to the regular menu, on Tuesdays through Thursdays.

-  The Catbird Band will perform as part of Shelter Island's Town Music Series at the Gazebo at 7 p.m. at Volunteer Park. The acoustic classic rock duo features Heather Catbird on vocals, banjo and harmonica and Peter Band on vocals and guitar.

- Hit the beach. With summer slipping away, take time to just savor the beauty. Pack a picnic and bring the kids for some memory making.

- See a flick. The Village Cinema in Greenport and Mattituck Cinemas offer an array of summer movies sure to please all ages.
