9/11 'Never Forget' Service, Parent Athletic Meeting, Bridge on Wednesday's Agenda

Here's what's happening on the North Fork Wednesday.

- The 12th Anniversary of 9/11, “Never Forget” ceremony: The Southold community is invited to come to the 9/11 memorial at the Jean Cochran Park in Peconic from 5 to 7 p.m. The public may come and place flags throughout the park to memorialize the 3000 victims. The flags will be made available for placement at the park. There will not be any formal ceremony but the community is encouraged to come either on their way home or after dinner with the family to “Never Forget” fellow Americans.

- Wednesday dawned with sunny skies, and a forecast for some clouds and a high of 87 degrees. Take a walk on the beach and hold onto summer for just a few moments longer.

- It's bridge from noon to 3 p.m. at the Mattituck-Laurel Library.

- For parents of students in the Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School district, a Parent Athletic Information Night will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. Athletic Director of Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD Greggory Wormuth will be presenting to all parents of student athletes grades 7-12 on information relative to athletics in the district. The focus of the presentation will be on the philosophy of MUFSD athletics, expectations of athletes, parents, and coaches, policies and procedures and how to use the MUFSD website to find athletic information.

- There's a meeting of the Greenhill Cemetery Committee at 4:30 p.m. at Village Hall in Greenport.
