Pet of the Week: Tonto Has Something to Say

If you've ever visited the cat rooms at the Town of Southold Animal Shelter, then there's a good chance you know the shining star of this week's Pet of the Week: Tonto.

One of the most cordial feline's at the shelter, Tonto greets everyone instantly with gentle rubs and purring.

But what I didn't know was that Tonto has been a shelter resident since he and his two orange siblings were brought there as kittens — almost 2 years ago. And he remains the only one not adopted.

Office Manager Gabby Glantzman chose Tonto as this week's ultimate animal, while giving him the highest praise: "Tonto is outgoing, loves all the other cats, and is very, very sweet!"

Glantzman captured some incredible shots of Tonto, and it definitely seems as though the main photo is him sharing his negative views on not being adopted yet.

So come down to the Town of Southold Animal Shelter today and visit Tonto, plus all the other wonderful animals waiting for their forever homes.

Also be sure to check out today's Puppy Bowl, airing today at 3:00 pm on Animal Planet.

UPDATE: Shortly after this blog was posted this weekend, Tonto was adopted, according to Gabby Glantzman at the shelter. Must have been that adorable vampire kitty pic ...
