Police: Man Exposes Himself at Waldbaum's After Steak Theft Attempt
Southold Town Police charge a Southold man with public lewdness after he allegedly tried to steal seven steaks from Mattituck grocery store.
The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.
Kenneth McKay, 49, of Southold, was arrested and charged with public lewdness and petit larceny on Friday at 11:40 a.m., after police responded to a call that McKay had exposed himself to employees and customers of Waldbaum's grocery store in Mattituck, police said.
Police said that Waldbaum's employees observed McKay concealing seven steaks worth a total of $80 under his shirt. When the employees stopped him as he attempted to leave the store, McKay removed the steaks, unzipped his pants and exposed himself, police said.
