What kind of puppy was it and where did it come from?

If it came from a puppy mill, they might get off light with a grand larceny charge. Puppy mill dogs often have serious health issues that will cost a fortune to new owners to properly treat and care for during its life cycle.

our rescue dogs all of them cost 400 bucks to transport from kill shelters in the south . they are healthy hysterically funny and loyal to the core rescue dont buy

What a horrible story on all levels... Don't buy puppies from puppy mills and $2,500... ridiculous! I have three beautiful dogs from rescue... two puggles and a pug! they are perfect dogs from shelters PERFECT!

Who said this was a puppy mill? I have been to this store and have told that all of their dogs come from local breeders

jc i didnt say puppy mill . i rescue dogs from death row in the south and its cheaper and its a real 'life saver' i have never had better pure breed s two hounds recent puppy] a rat terrier and a great pyr ' the great pyr is the dog of my life '...total cost 400 /4 dogs

We have a german sherpard which was brought locally and a west highland terrior which I got from an ad that was in Newsday. I'm preety sure my westie came from a puppy mill but he is 8 now and a very healthy dog. I know 4 people that have brought dogs from Puppy Experience and have all been happy with them and they have been healthy. If they did come from puupy mills at least now they have loving homes.

NO reputable breeder would sell a dog to a pet store. A reputable breeder will not generally sell a dog without knowing it is going to a good home that is suitable for the puppy. Buying dogs from pet stores, puppy mills and internet breeders just continues the viscious cycle of dogs being born and living in abhorrently bad conditions.

I bought a dog from here 4 years ago and I have to tell you I definately rescued her! She was so sick when I got her home she went to the vet 3 times in the first week for kennel cough! Called them they never offered to reimburse me and didn't really seem to care. Was told she was 8 weeks when I got her when in reality she was only 6 weeks and didn't have all the shots she needed even though they told me she did, and never should've been taken from her mother at that young age. But with lots of love and visits to the vet she was healthy within a month and is now the best most lovable dog I ever had!

On the subject of dogs. I adopted my current dog Snowball, a Cocker Spaniel 3 yrs ago from a local shelter. She was 10 yrs old - I knew she had a heart murmur, bad ears, & warts. The reason I adopted her was that 6 days earlier, my previous dog, a one-of-a-kind dog, Snowie, was hit by a car while I was not at home. A friend was at my home, & I'll never know if someone tried to enter the home, or if the door was left ajar, but I came home to find my Snowball outside my home in a garbage bag. It would have been so much better if the person who hit my dog had come to get me. This tragedy took place in the same 13 month time span in which I lost my fiance at a hospital for outpatient surgery, & my mother, who had terminal MS couldn't breathe. That's why after Snowie died, 6 days later I adopted Snowball from a local animal shelter. They disclosed she had a level 3 heart murmur, bad ears, & warts. She also has pulmonary hypertension which she takes Pimobendan (vetmedin) for, & recently started having grand-mal seizures, and started taking meds for that. I was employed full time when I adopted her, but that job ended 6 months later, and it's been an uphill battle since then. But she has saved me, as I saved her. After one vet was not providing cost effective care, I switched to Bideawee Westhampton. (If you go there, please tell them Eva & Snowball sent you.). All the pups need to be rescued from that hellhole....lights on 24/7, overcrowded, undersized crates, unregulated temperatures, often-empty water bottles. (I've stopped in an mentioned this to staff, only to be admonished.) I know 4 well-meaning people who unwittingly purchased dogs from this joint, and all were sick, requiring hundreds -- and, in one case, thousands - of dollars of vet care. Pets should be rescued, not purchased -- there are millions of beautiful, loving pets, waiting to be rescued from intolerable conditions. Pets of every size, breed, hypo-allergenic or not --- there is no excuse to buy a pet. Thousands of loving companions are being put to death every day. Bring one of those into your home and heart.

a dog is a reflection of its owner. just like a computer love in - love out. the best dogs that are dogs that are "rescued" from shelters. especoally our soho shelter. they are glad to be able to be free with their owners and will love unconditionally. they are like children "the more care and guidence" the better the animal/child. of al the cats and dogs i have had (bought two) the best were the "shelter" animals. adopt and donate ....

how about this tie in lets open a' dog adoption' center where the bagel place was

I know that Talmadge has pet adoption days on Saturdays. Also SAVES Spay Alter Neuter Vaccinate Every Stray has cats and kittens that are adoptable at PETCO.What I'd love is a dog park in downtown vicinity of Riverhead. And I'd love an indoor recreation zone where you could bring your pets. I've got my one Snowball, (read above) and I have a stray who has decided to become an indoor cat, Peekaboo, and two Ferrets which my granddaughter gifted me with when she moved out of State in November, Metia ( Nosey), and Bongo (Lazy).I'd love to have an indoor place to bring my animal family. It would be great do have both next to each other.
