Police: Diabetic Woman Crashes Car Into Home After Medical Emergency

Berna Guvenc, 54, of Mattituck was hospitalized after hitting the outside of her house with her 1996 Land Rover on Mill Lane in Mattituck on Wednesday at 3:54 p.m., Southold Town Police reported. The accident happened after Guvenc suffered a diabetic emergency, police said. Members of the Mattituck Fire Department transported Guvenc to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment for her medical condition, police said.
