User Photos: Rockin' for the Homeless at Polish Hall
Saturday night's 'Rockin' for the Homeless' at the Polish Hall raised money for John's Place Mattituck Homeless Outreach.
For the fourth winter in a row, the Polish Hall rocked for the homeless.
At Saturday night's Rockin' for the Homeless IV, familiar local musical acts such as Who Are Those Guys?, Rattlesnake Dawn, Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks, and Boot Scoot Boogie played from 6 to 10 p.m. to raise money a local homeless cause.
Though previous years had benefitted Maureen's Haven, this year proceeds went to the John's Place in Mattituck. John's Place also operates in Greenport out of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, while the Mattituck Presbyterian Church runs the Mattituck location.
"The event was a great success," said event organizer Tom Gahan."Once again we had a capacity crowd. As always, we owe a debt of gratitude to all of the volunteers, the bands and the community for their support. Plans are already in the works for the Fifth Annual Rockin for the Homeless to be held next January."
Brian McArdle, who attended Saturday's event, was generous enough to share some of his photos with Riverhead Patch.

Congratulations to Tom Gahan, the great volunteers, and the four bands for another outstanding "Rockin' for the Homeless" event to raise money but more importantly awareness of John's Place Outreach and the plight of the homeless on the North Fork!
