It's Maggies Turn To Have Some Fun of Her Own

Now that all her puppies have been adopted this young Lab/Amstaff mix is more than ready to go to her forever home.

In a previous Pet of the Week story we highlighted a wonderfully sweet canine mom, Maggie, along with her beautiful litter of puppies.  A short time later it was decided that Maggie would be adopted along with one of her puppies. Sadly, the family decided they were unable to bring another dog into their home.

Since all of Maggie's babies have now been officially adopted, and Maggie has completed her days as an incredibly nurturing mom — it's her turn to be able go into a loving home.

Shelter employee Karen Stevenson — one of the many people at the Town of Southold Animal Shelter dedicated not only to caring for the animals but also to getting to know them and their personalities — expressed how loving she feels Maggie truly is.

"I don't think that this girl has a mean bone in her body — she's a great dog," she said.

While visiting with Maggie on Friday, I got to experience one of her favorite pastimes — playing with water. Although the video depicts Maggie having an awesome time trying to catch water from the hose, I was told that she enjoys bathing in the water as well.

"Maggie absolutely loves playing in her doggie pool outside", said shelter office manager Gabby Glantzman.

Maggie has been spayed and is ready to meet her forever family.
