Holiday Guide: Thanksgiving at Local Restaurants

Some North Fork restaurants are open for special Thanksgiving service.

A handful of North Fork restaurants will serve all your favorite Thanksgiving fixings this coming Thursday if you've not made plans to cook. Others will offer Thanksgiving Eve specials on Wednesday — and the Love Lane Kitchen will be open for breakfast before turkey and football hit local households.

1. The Soundview on Route 48 in Greenport will serve a four-course Thanksgiving Day feast from 12 to 9 p.m on Thursday. The menu includes not only turkey with all the trimmings but also selections of rib, pasta and seafood dishes. Reservations are booking fast, so calls them today at 631-477-0666. Enjoy a Wednesday night dance party for Thanksgiving Eve the night before at 8 p.m.

2. The North Fork Oyster Company in Greenport is also hosting a Thanksgiving Eve party on Wednesday. Drink deals and a special bar menu will run from 3 to 8 p.m. The restaurant will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

3. The Bayview Inn and Restaurant in Jamesport will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 12 to 6 p.m., featuring a more compact menu but with  turkey, of course. Call 631-722-2659 for reservations.

4. Blackwells at Great Rock Golf Club in Wading River will be open from 12 to 5 p.m. with a Thanksgiving harvest buffet for $39.95 per person and $20.95 per child under the age of 10. Call 631-929-1800.

5. If you're planning a later dinner reservation or with family at home, the Love Lane Kitchen will be open for regular breakfast hours from 7 a.m. to noon on Thursday in case you need to fuel up for the day ahead. The Mattituck restaurant will not be serving Thanksgiving meals later in the day.

Thanks to the restaurant folk who are staying open for those of us who---for whatever reason---cannot put together a Thanksgiving feast at home for friends and/or family. With children in the restaurant business, we know what a sacrifice this represents. Know that your passion for helping customers celebrate these special times is both noticed and very, very much appreciated.
